Learn how to manage your moorings and understand the booking process

Ensuring your mooring availability is accurate

Calendar Availability Settings

You have full control over the dates boaties can book your mooring. You can list your mooring as Available and edit the listing to set unavailable dates when you need it yourself or you can list as Unavailable and edit the listing to set available dates when you aren't using the mooring yourself, such as when you are off sailing. You can change this default setting at any time from Your Account.

Booking Type Settings

You also control the type of bookings you receive. You can allow Instant Booking, which enables boaties to process a booking and obtain an immediate confirmation. Or you can set On Request Booking. This means a boatie has to wait for your approval to complete a booking. You can change this default setting at any time from Your Account but changes do not come into effect until the next business day.

Mooring Availability Schedule

Once you have set your preferred defaults, you can also amend specific dates, to either block them out if your mooring is normally available or to make them available if your mooring is normally unavailable.

PROCESS: Instant Booking vs On Request

Instant Booking

  1. Boaties use the Bookabuoy service to select your mooring and the dates required. Payment is processed and you, the boatie, and the harbourmaster get instant notification that the mooring is booked.
  2. Cancellation of an instant booking can only be done by the boaties up to 48 hours prior to the commencement of the booking.
  3. You may not cancel an instant booking at any time. If you have made an error in your availability and a confirmed booking is received which cannot proceed, you will be liable for the full amount of the booking and your account may be suspended.
  4. You will receive payment for the booking on the 20th of the month following the completed booking.

On Request

  1. Boaties use the Bookabuoy service to select your mooring and submit a request for the dates required. Dates show as booked.
  2. You will get an email notification detailing the mooring and dates requested. You have up to 48 hours to accept or reject the request. If no response is received the request will be rejected.
    • If rejected: The boatie is notified and the dates converted to unavailable.
    • If accepted: The boatie is notified, they have up to 48 hours to complete the booking. If the booking proceeds you, the boatie, and the harbourmaster get notification that the mooring is booked. Dates show as booked. If booking does not proceed the dates are released and shown as available again.
  3. Cancellation of a completed booking can only be done by the boaties up to 48 hours prior to the commencement of the booking.
  4. You may not cancel a booking that has been accepted and completed at any time. If you have made an error accepting the request and a confirmed booking is processed which cannot proceed, you will be liable for the full amount of the booking and your account may be suspended.
  5. You will receive payment for the booking on the 20th of the month following the completed booking.
